The Pilgrim's Tale: The Meaning of Life

Have you heard the story about the pilgrim who went to visit the Dalai Lama? The pilgrim wanted to ask the Dalai Lama what was the meaning of life? The pilgrim waited five years before seeing the Dalai Lama. 

The Dalai Lama answered the pilgrim’s question by asking the pilgrim why he wanted to know the meaning of life.  The pilgrim replied, “Because I want to know my purpose in life?”

The Dalai Lama said, “Man thinks, he is above the animal, and that he has purpose, because that is the way he is taught from birth to think, but forgets he is an animal.
