Harry the Hat, the Bookie Says... .

As the markets begin to tumble the euro/dollar on the Forex is up and down like a Yoyo. My strategy is at the very last second before I execute that trade, I “fade” my trades. In simple terms the opposite trade? Why, you ask? The way our brain’s work, and in my case the analysis of previous trades shows the profitability. And, remember “you don’t win on every trade” you win over time because of the increased profits of these trades. Now, where is that mirror on the wall.  In a three horse race, now, that is different, and so on and on. The unlikeliness of an event happening is often the outcome.

I Had to Fall to Lose It All

As I trade the euro/dollar on the Forex, I realise that the markets are moving up and down like a Yoyo. I have found by analysing my trades over time, that if I “fade” myself the profitability is around seventy percent. So, that is my strategy, I will just fade my trades. I find the same strategy works for sports bets most of the time. Why, you ask? Well, I believe that we fail to follow our intuition most of the time, and that policy is often the wrong one.

Listen to the beautiful Chinese song as you read.

They say, that the wisdom of the crowd is a powerful resource, yes, I believe that is so, but, the power of our intuition can be even more powerful.  Now, Eeny, meena, mina, mo, mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the smartest of them all? The mirror replied, “Harry the hat, the bookie!”

Are you listening,  what are you dreaming?

Take Your Hand Out of the Cookie Jar and Read My Story

And there I was, looking straight at God or what I thought to be God. Why did I think it was God, well, that is a good question? The truth is I do not know, but for some reason my subconscious had decided it was. Now, the vision I saw had no human form, only, I saw a spinning ball of light shaped like the sun, but without well-defined edges. So, my subconscious had decided it was God or that the spinning ball of light that I saw, was a means to communicate with God, either way, the subconscious had control over the hour or so that I listened to what I believed to be God.

I was told a fantastic story. I travelled back in time to observe the moment a stranger entered the court of a great king of Mesopotamia. I saw the stranger approach the king, and the king said, “Who are you?” The stranger replied, “Your treasure is gone.” The king looked perplexed and said, “I am the king of Babylon and who are you?” The stranger said, “Take me to where you guard your treasure.” As the guards of the treasure room opened the door they saw no shinning gold, only dust. The king said to the stranger, “What have you done with my treasure?” The stranger replied, “What you value in this life has no value in the next. My name is Jesus, I am the messenger. I go wherever my father demands.” As the king was about to speak the stranger turned away and disappeared.

Several days after this spiritual experience I decided to research the kings of ancient Babylon. I found that indeed there is a legend about a king of Babylon who it is said made a bargain to free the enslaved Jews from captivity soon after a mysterious man appeared in the king’s court. The legend says that the king died about three months after the Jews were set free, but the king lived long enough to see his daughter marry. The legend it is said, that this was the bargain the king made for his life with the stranger who came to court. To this day many people believe that the legend of the lost treasure of Babylon to be true.

The Quest for Artificial Intelligence

The inherent problem with algorithms whether they are based on neural networks, genetic algorithms, knowledge discovery systems or any other type of pattern recognition software is the paradox in automated pattern discovery systems in extracting random data sets and the association of interestingness as a measure of the usefulness of the data patterns revealed, because there is no prior knowledge of the likely interesting data associations to be found before automation. “If you do not expect it, you will not find the unexpected, for it is hard to find and difficult.” (Padmanabhan & Tuzhilin, 1999)

So, you see the dilemma for artificial intelligence is the probability, that a rule exists, that maps one association to another with the subjective attributes of unexpectedness is present in the fact that the unexpected is expected in the probability of chance relationships existing in any given time frame.

Many algorithms exist in determining patterns of interestingness, these then can be used as a measure of the expected quality of the data retrieval, the main problem with this approach would seem the probability of randomness in any given set of data. The random nature of data aggregation assumes that while some methods would filter interesting patterns, it would also be conceivable that many more one dimensional patterns would not be recovered without techniques that would isolate odd patterns.

Clearly, only understandable patterns can qualify as new knowledge, hence, the importance of interestingness measures in finding and tuning search heuristics in this quest for artificial intelligence.

Here is a list of stories included in “How to Pass a Degree with Confidence” they are not in any order, purely random.

To be or not to be

It’s never too late

We don't all wear the same shoes

We have all the time in the world

Sat there like a Cheshire cat

There’s a bit more meat on the bone

More stress than a chaining smoking nurse

The golden rule

How I got my T-Shirt

A girl came knocking on my window

Realise your potential it’s within you to succeed. Your success is not proportional to the effort you put in, that part is purely random.

I can win the lottery in a second, but spend a lifetime finding a cure for cancer. Which is more rewarding?

The Policy of Austerity is the Policy of an Antichrist

This government’s policy of austerity is the policy of an antichrist. We all know the huge government deficit or debt was caused by the 2008 banking crisis. The government bailed out the banks to the tune of around one hundred billion pounds that we now have to pay back. This government’s policy is to cut welfare benefits for the poor to pay off the deficit or debt and at the same time reduce taxes for the wealthy.  The government should have imposed a recurring tax on all the banks until the debt was paid off instead of applying a policy of austerity for the poor. I can only assume that an antichrist would follow a policy of austerity for the poor while the rich get richer and the banks that caused the government debt get off without paying their dues.
