Harry the Hat, the Bookie Says... .

As the markets begin to tumble the euro/dollar on the Forex is up and down like a Yoyo. My strategy is at the very last second before I execute that trade, I “fade” my trades. In simple terms the opposite trade? Why, you ask? The way our brain’s work, and in my case the analysis of previous trades shows the profitability. And, remember “you don’t win on every trade” you win over time because of the increased profits of these trades. Now, where is that mirror on the wall.  In a three horse race, now, that is different, and so on and on. The unlikeliness of an event happening is often the outcome.

I Had to Fall to Lose It All

As I trade the euro/dollar on the Forex, I realise that the markets are moving up and down like a Yoyo. I have found by analysing my trades over time, that if I “fade” myself the profitability is around seventy percent. So, that is my strategy, I will just fade my trades. I find the same strategy works for sports bets most of the time. Why, you ask? Well, I believe that we fail to follow our intuition most of the time, and that policy is often the wrong one.

Listen to the beautiful Chinese song as you read.

They say, that the wisdom of the crowd is a powerful resource, yes, I believe that is so, but, the power of our intuition can be even more powerful.  Now, Eeny, meena, mina, mo, mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the smartest of them all? The mirror replied, “Harry the hat, the bookie!”

The Quest for Artificial Intelligence

The inherent problem with algorithms whether they are based on neural networks, genetic algorithms, knowledge discovery systems or any other type of pattern recognition software is the paradox in automated pattern discovery systems in extracting random data sets and the association of interestingness as a measure of the usefulness of the data patterns revealed, because there is no prior knowledge of the likely interesting data associations to be found before automation. “If you do not expect it, you will not find the unexpected, for it is hard to find and difficult.” (Padmanabhan & Tuzhilin, 1999)

So, you see the dilemma for artificial intelligence is the probability, that a rule exists, that maps one association to another with the subjective attributes of unexpectedness is present in the fact that the unexpected is expected in the probability of chance relationships existing in any given time frame.

Many algorithms exist in determining patterns of interestingness, these then can be used as a measure of the expected quality of the data retrieval, the main problem with this approach would seem the probability of randomness in any given set of data. The random nature of data aggregation assumes that while some methods would filter interesting patterns, it would also be conceivable that many more one dimensional patterns would not be recovered without techniques that would isolate odd patterns.

Clearly, only understandable patterns can qualify as new knowledge, hence, the importance of interestingness measures in finding and tuning search heuristics in this quest for artificial intelligence.

Read my funny account of life at University.  Well, I hope you find some parts funny; otherwise, I will eat my hat.  I studied Artificial Intelligence and realised its potential. The Theory of Everything: Humpty Dumpty Sat on a Wall

In the beginning, God said, “Let there be light.” Hence, the Big Bang and the theory of expansion and we have been expanding ever since time began. Well, for some of us, that means literally expanding into a Humpty Dumpty.  Consider this: If the visible cosmos is still in expansion mode and moving away from the center of where the Big Bang occurred into a vacuum, then what is there to maintain the vacuum? The laws of physics that are universal in nature cannot create a vacuum without a container. So, whose fish bowl are we in, yours or mine? Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall; Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. Just a thought.

Just How Old Do You Have To Be To Make Money? It's Never Too Late

I ask this question because many people always seem to have an excuse why they cannot do something right now. Some time ago this happened to me, for all you agnostics out there in cyberspace, because when you think about it, whose fish bowl are we in anyway, yours or mine? And, if you have any doubts about what you can do, because there are always a few sceptics around those doubting Thomas’ that refuse to believe what is possible, here is the answer.

A few months ago, while shopping in the local mall I picked up a book its title was “How to talk to girls.” You can always do with some extra tips, I was thinking. My biggest problem has not been how to talk to girls, but how to pick the right ones. Seriously, some of my girlfriends have been more manic than me. Recently, I had one girlfriend, who wanted to marry me after knowing me for only a week, that is either commitment or totally bonkers?

Curious cat, I turned the book over to find out the cost. It turns out that the book was written by an eight year old boy, his name is Alec Greven. He is a bit older now; this was a few years ago.  But, I have still made my point. Just how old do you have to be to make money? You work it out.

So, if you still have any doubts about what you can do just carry on sucking on that straw you never know it may just send you to sleep, and then who knows what dreams may come.

There’s an old saying, “you have to be up early, to catch the worm.” Otherwise amigo, hasta la vitas, senoritas.

The Secret of How to Live Longer

The world health organisation (WHO) recently conducted a world survey of life expectancy and the results showed a clear winner was the Malaysians. The reasons why were not so obvious at first glance? Critical thinking could suggest because of diet. Western societies eat primarily a meat based diet whereas eastern societies eat a primarily vegetarian based diet. WHO found it was a lot simpler than that, and not so obvious from the data. They found that the Malaysian people live longer because they smile and laugh more, as soon as, I heard that, I started laughing immediately.

The Dumbest Guide to Dieting?

Do not watch TV cookery shows unless you are being tortured.
With smaller portions eat 3 meals a day. (Think 3 eggs in their shells as equal to a portion)
Drink water instead of what you usually drink as much as possible.
Exercise as much as you want to do.
Throw out your weighing scales.
Wait 6 months and weigh yourself.
You have lost weight.
